good work!
Altered book: American Journey
nice!
Thought I’d try my hand at video. Let me know what you all think.
Nice, looks really good. Bring the paper animal in on Tuesday so we can have a look at it.
I really like this guys work. His name is Helmut Smits, he’s based in The Netherlands, visit his site here. The works I chose to show you are some of my favs. First we have an inflatable nascar made out of shopping bags, garbage bags, plastic foil, tape and air. Next is an installation that filters coca-cola into clean drinking water. And last is a waterfall made out of garbage, a pump, a hose, and tap water.
Great find, Lily. Hope you feel better
As we are approaching the book as media project on Thursday I thought it would be appropriate to share this short video of an artist who takes an interesting approach to books. A friend of mine, Robbie Wilkins, shot the video while living in Montreal.
I’ve just been browsing book art trying to get some ideas and inspriation and found some more pretty incredible pieces. Thought I would share…
good find, ben
another one i found today. this is generative and they don’t say, but i’m assuming done with processing. it’s given me some ideas for utilizing game engine editors in combination with some tweaked draw distances and heavy post processing. but i love that this is purely code.

i love the hard transition blips, but i’m not so keen on the overly bright shapes. the monochrome shape, floating above the planet, invokes a sense of fear & doom that i find oddly appealing. it’d be interesting to see what one could do using just sound files/images available from nasa’s archives. possible future assignment?
